pig in a cat suit

Hercules is a fat cat. We knew this when we adopted him, actually this was part of what drew us to him, he was so darn cute! It is painfully obvious why he is so fat... he will eat ANYTHING. When I was growing up we had two cats, Tigger & Bob, who loved green beans. We never gave them cat treats, just green beans. So, this gave me the idea to try Hercules & Lucy on green beans (Herks = yes, Lucy = no). Then it expanded into other foods. At first "will he eat it?" was a fun game to play, now it's pretty obvious that the answer is always yes. However, now that we've got him on a diet to get his weight to a healthier level, I limit myself to giving him vegetables.

Crashed out dreaming about avocados (or something)...

Here's a list of all the foods he will eat so far:
-lettuce
-avocado
-cabbage
-spinach
-endive
-green beans
-green bell peppers
-red bell peppers
-cucumbers
-pea pods
-snow peas
-tomatoes
-zucchini
-strawberries
-blueberries
-pear
-grapes
-walnuts
Of course he will eat any form of meat or fish he could get his paws on, but they're verboten around here. The only thing he has shown a really strong dislike for is banana. In fact, he swatted at it when it was offered. Hmm?

Jules (Hercules's fat orange friend) will only eat leafy greens in terms of people food. Otherwise, he only likes kibble. The vet told us to feed him wet cat food to get his weight down, but he doesn't like it much. I'm not sure what we're going to do, aside from put him on Weight Watchers and make him eat Swiss chard for dinner.
